Lecture 5

Use of plastinated specimens to develop QTVR anatomical objects.

 Fawzy Elnady

Associate Prof. of Anatomy and Embryology, Faculty of Vet. Med. Cairo Univ.

 Summary

Effectiveness of Plastinated anatomical specimens in teaching veterinary anatomy has been established. The ease of handling, dryness, and the realistic appearance of the Plastinated specimens helped to use such valued specimens to develop 3-D QTVR (Quick Time Virtual Reality) objects. The student can handle such virtual specimens on his PC as if it is in his hand. Audio narration can be added to objects then all multimedia elements can be packaged into an interactive multimedia computer program.
